Oprah Winfrey Set To Lead Women In The World Summit 2019

o mark its 10-year anniversary, the Women in the World summit has called upon one of the most powerful women on the planet to lead it: Oprah Winfrey. Due to take place from April 10 to 12 in New York’s Lincoln Center, the event will host an array of inspiring women for the live media event, all tasked with answering one question: can women save the world?

Founded by former Vanity Fair editor Tina Brown, the event has welcomed many incredible women (and men) over the years – including Viola Davis, Ronan Farrow and last year’s keynote speaker, former First Lady Hillary Clinton. “This year’s summit is such a milestone event with our 10th anniversary; it is clearer than ever that the mission has met its moment,” said Brown. “The seeds we’ve planted as far back as 2010 in a small midtown theatre have exploded into a global community of women of power and purpose.”

The event will see familiar faces – such as Brie Larson, Stacy Abrams, Ashley Judd and Adwoa Aboah – take to the stage alongside keynote speaker, Winfrey. And they’ll be tackling the pressing topics of how women can push the #MeToo movement forward, advancing female leaders, keeping journalism alive, advocating same-sex love and climate change. Additionally, the summit will feature a comedy panel for the first time, too.
